The project

Interactive installation created for CAMP Festival in Calgary. It takes the simple idea of gathering around a fire to share stories and turns it into a sculpture: nine abstract triangular logs of dark-stained wood and acrylic, lit from inside by LEDs and controlled from a web app on visitors’ phones.

Dragging a finger across the screen changes the colour of the fire. The more people join in, the more colourful and alive it gets. Campfire debuted at the GRAND during CAMP 2014, then showed at DaDe Art & Design Lab in Inglewood and at CAMP 2015.
